Garlic Bread

There are few things better than warm, buttery garlic bread fresh from the oven. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with rich garlic flavor, it’s the perfect side dish for everything from pasta night to backyard BBQs—or simply enjoyed on its own.

The best part? Homemade garlic bread comes together in just minutes using a handful of simple ingredients, but tastes like something you’d order at your favorite Italian restaurant.

What will you need?

  • French baguette
  • garlic
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • unsalted butter
  • salt
  • pepper
  • parsley
  • Calabrian chiles, optional if you want it spicy
  • parmesan
  • mozzarella

How to make it

Add the garlic cloves to a small oven safe dish like a ramekin. Add olive oil until the garlic is submerged. Place in a 300F oven for 20-30 minutes or until the garlic is soft and golden. Check periodically to make sure it is not burning. Remove from the oven and let cool 10 minutes.

Remove the garlic cloves from the olive oil and place in a mortar and pestle. Smash until creamy. Add in the butter, salt, pepper, Calabrian chiles, parsley, and parmesan. Mash until combined and creamy. Spread over the bread and grate over fresh parmesan. Cover with shredded mozzarella. Place in a 400F oven until the cheese is melted and starting to bubble. About 10-15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and cut into portions. Hope you enjoy!
